Kimono-style shirt jackets are found across many Eastern cultures from Japan to India. Our iteration is based on a vintage piece we discovered while exploring the second-hand markets of Jaipur. Its easy, unlined silhouette features an applied shoulder construction, a simplified, open placket and satin-piped seams. The cloth on this gutsy but soft cotton twill tweed version has been hand-woven with beautifully irregular black and white slub yarns in the traditional Khadi method, which utilizes zero electricity. Though an ideal layering piece when worn alone, we've taken to pairing it with our single pleat trousers cut from the same fabric. The resulting look is an Eastern interpretation on a traditional suit and we love how it casually elevates tees and knitwear.
