Our nod to the anti-war protesters of the 1970’s, who often wore military jackets hand-embellished with calls for peace and freedom. The Mandu jungle jacket is cut from an Indian cotton Khadi, an entirely hand-made fabric that requires zero electricity to produce. It rose to prominence in India during the Swadeshi movement of the early 20th century when Gandhi encouraged the entire country to grow and weave their own cloth for clothes in protest against the British colonists. Our khadi has been hand dyed a rich OD green and mixed with a beautifully intricate Himalayan woven tapestry textile to denote that this jacket is strictly for civilian use. It features four roomy flapped pockets at its front with authentic, rubberized army buttons at the covered placket, pockets and cuffs.
Proudly made in India of 100% cotton.
