You’d never know, but this one was based on an old French fishing smock. That piece had a crazy open placket, which we loved but figured we’d be the only ones. So we added a zip to calm things down, but just up to the base of the collar. That way, it opens up just right when worn over a hoody. It’s the little things. Others of note are the lavender nylon taslan hits at the collar and pockets (the hip ones go all the way through and have a zip closure) and the hand block printed corduroy chest pocket. I feel like we talk about hand block printing a ton but most people are still shocked when they hear about it in the studio. They are done completely freehand, color by color, with Indian Rosewood blocks that have been carved with a hammer and chisel. Those are the actual blocks there in the photos to the left. Wild, right? Anyway, like the other two fleece tops from this drop, this one has a matching bottom. Cop the full kit for unstoppable 2AM bodega fits.
