The Gabor upcycled cashmere crewneck is the product of process and chance. On our travels through Kathmandu, we discovered a small supplier that produces cashmere knitwear for a handful of world-renowned European fashion houses. Amidst the various samples of their work, we happened on a pile of beautifully irregular wool rag-like cashmere accessories which had been made by respinning leftover cashmere scraps with local deadstock cashmere yarns. Building on this idea, we worked to develop this process into full garments. The end result is characterized by a loose double rib stitch, wide neck and random marled colors with a butter-soft hand; the luxury version of the crunchy, homespun sweaters that filled Burlington, VT headshops in the 90s.
Proudly made in Nepal of 100% upcycled cashmere.
