Straight from the Source | Bagru Textiles

by Antonio Ciongoli

I am instinctively drawn to garments dyed with natural indigo for the simple fact that they age with their owners, developing a unique character reflective of their own personal experiences.  Back in 2015, a budding fascination with this and other natural dyes lead some friends and me to Bagru, a small artisan village roughly an hour outside Jaipur, India.  We spent an immersive week there, learning from Vijendra Chhipa, the proprietor of the incredible printing workshop Bagru Textiles.  That trip sparked my passion for the east and is largely responsible for the creation of this brand.  Needles to say, when it came time to develop a unique shade of indigo-dyed khadi for drop three's Tsomo jacket and Namdak work pants, I knew who to call.  The video below is a wonderful look at Mr. Chhipa's company and the work they are doing to positively impact their community and traditions.  We are proud to partner with them and look forward to doing so again in the future.
