THEO GIANT SAILING PARKA - BLACK LINEN TWILL
"Alright strap in because this is going to be a long one. I'll start by saying that the Theo is my favorite style of the year thus far. This is unsurprising because I love hooded jackets and garments that can be worn many different ways. This one has three (!) different center front closure configurations - two different 8g two-way zippers and an oversized, snap-closure storm flap - which allow you to modify the silhouette endlessly.
Detail-wise, there are too many to list but here goes: It has a stashable hood that rolls into a snap-down collar with a half pillbox-shaped velcro throat latch. That shape is echoed in the top stitching surrounding the antique nickel snaps on said storm flap. Those snaps are reinforced under the flap with a wide strip of tonal cotton herringbone tape. The same quality cotton herringbone is used for hem and hood cinches that have been cut deliberately long so that they can be looped and tied into interesting dangling shapes. The hip pockets draw inspiration from classic barn coats with angled welted pockets that feed into an additional mitred flap patch pocket that has an envelope costruction. This reduces the chances of things falling out. The cuffs have double snaps that fold inward to allow for silhouette modification of the sleeves. This is all kind of hard to see in the 100% black linen twill we cut it from, but trust when you get this in hand you are going to be blown away." - The Management
Proudly made in India.
The garment runs very oversized and it's deliberately cut in a way that makes that hard to avoid (We almost ran it as a one size only). While it is possible to size down from your normal size, if you are looking for a jacket that fits close to the body, you'll probably want to sit this one out.
